Brighten the Night

Join us for our annual Brighten the Night candlelight vigil — a gathering of love, remembrance, and community. Together, we’ll honor the lives of those we’ve lost and create a space to speak their names aloud. This evening is about connection — giving one another permission to remember, to say their names, and to let their light shine.
With a donation of your choosing to WBYC, we will include your loved one’s name in our program and speak it aloud amidst the candlelight — a shared act of remembrance and love. Attendance is not required; your person’s name will be honored whether or not you are able to be with us in person. All proceeds will help bring to life The Green House Retreat, WBYC’s newest project — a grief vacation home designed to nurture families who have lost a spouse or child.

Be Yourself Day Shirts
December 16th is Be Yourself Day, a new tradition created to honor William by inviting our community to show up exactly as they are — boldly, authentically, and with love. This year, we’ve designed a special Be Yourself Day shirt to help you celebrate with us. Wear it on December 16th, or wear any green shirt you already own, as we remember William and all our loved ones during this tender season. Purchase your Be Yourself Day shirt here:
In addition, please help us fill the night with William’s favorite color — green — a symbol of growth, hope, and remembrance. You can participate by lighting your home, lamppost, or yard with a green spotlight or bulb, knowing that others across the community will be doing the same. You can purchase a green bulb from your favorite local retailer, we’ll create a gentle green glow across town — for William, and for all who grieve.
